our specialties

Support rooted in safety, connection, and real-life understanding.

At Throughline Psychotherapy and Consulting, we specialize in trauma-informed care for children, parents, and women navigating anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, and life transitions.

Our work always begins with emotional safety. From there, we explore patterns, strengthen connection, and build practical skills that feel sustainable beyond the therapy room.

Below are the primary areas we focus on.

CHILDHOOD TRAUMA & Attachment

Early experiences shape how children see themselves and the world.

We support children ages 0–10 navigating adoption, foster care transitions, divorce, trauma, anxiety, depression, and early attachment disruptions.

Children often express distress through behavior. Big emotions, withdrawal, aggression, or shutdown responses aren’t “bad behavior”, they’re signals.

Using play-based and attachment-focused approaches, we help children build regulation skills while strengthening the connection between child and caregiver. Healing happens in relationship.

ANXIETY & DEPRESSION

For children and adults anxiety and depression can look different across the lifespan.

In children, it may show up as clinginess, irritability, sleep changes, or difficulty separating.

In adults, it may feel like racing thoughts, overwhelm, numbness, or harsh self-criticism.

Together, we identify patterns, build regulation skills, strengthen coping strategies, and deepen self-understanding without shame.

You don’t have to wait until things feel unmanageable. Therapy can be a space to process stress before it turns into burnout.

young & adult women

Untangling family-of-origin patterns and attachment wounds.

Many women seek therapy to understand how early attachment experiences continue to shape their relationships.

You may notice repeating patterns, difficulty with boundaries, fear of conflict or abandonment, or high self-criticism.

Together, we identify the “throughlines” in your story and work toward deeper self-understanding, stronger boundaries, emotional regulation, and freedom from shame.

Healing does not require perfection. It requires curiosity and support.

PARENT CONSULTATION & Support

Because parenting is hard, especially when behaviors feel confusing.

We help parents understand what their child’s behavior is communicating, not just how to stop it.

Sessions focus on:

  • Strengthening attachment

  • Building co-regulation skills

  • Shifting mindset around behavior

  • Creating calm, consistent responses

When parents feel supported and regulated, children benefit.

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE

Trauma is not defined only by what happened — but by how it was experienced.

Our trauma-informed approach prioritizes:

  • Nervous system awareness

  • Pacing and consent in therapy

  • Emotional safety before problem-solving

  • Context over judgment

  • Collaboration over authority

We honor the whole story. Symptoms are not isolated problems. They are adaptations.

clinical supervision

We provide supervision for LCSWAs and LCMHCAs working toward full licensure.

Our supervision style is reflective, ethical, and growth-oriented. We focus on:

  • Clinical conceptualization

  • Trauma-informed frameworks

  • Attachment-based approaches

  • Therapist self-awareness

  • Professional identity development

Supervision is not just about meeting requirements — it’s about deepening clinical confidence and integrity.

WHAT MAKES OUR APPROACH DIFFERENT?

We prioritize safety before solutions.

We approach every story with curiosity over judgment.

We believe therapy is not only for crisis, but for growth.

We create space for complexity without rushing to fix.

Throughline is a place where patterns can be understood — and shifted.
